The aim of Schools and Public Education, in the party's words

TrueBlue Vancouver's approach to schools & public education is organized around the following commitments.

The party's own words, 2026 Full Election Platform, page 38

The schools and public education section of TrueBlue Vancouver's 2026 platform is on pages 38 to 41, and it is aimed at the Vancouver Board of Education, where the party has candidates. It covers bullying, Indigenous schooling, media literacy, support for neurodivergent students, police in schools and student involvement. We split it into two pages: one on safety and student voice, and one on learning and support.

TrueBlue would enforce strong rules against bullying, threats and harassment, applied equally to every student, and support police liaison programs in schools. It would teach accurate Canadian and Indigenous history, end mandatory land acknowledgements, and teach students to question sources and recognize misinformation. It would give neurodivergent students practical classroom supports based on their needs, and give students input on school issues while keeping trustees accountable to parents and voters.

The Board of Education runs Vancouver public schools, sets catchment boundaries and approves the district budget. Teacher pay and the provincial funding formula are set by the Province. A police liaison program would also need the Vancouver Police Board, which directs the officers.
