QUESTIONS

About this copy of the law.

Is this the official text of the law?

This is an unofficial copy. The official version is published by the King's Printer for British Columbia, and every Act page on voche.me links to the Act on BC Laws.

How current is the text?

Each Act page states the date BC Laws gives as the date its text is current to, and the day voche.me copied it. At the last update those dates were September 22, 2026 and October 2, 2026.

Was any wording changed?

The wording of every section is the wording on BC Laws. Only the page layout differs. When the text was copied, a check compared every character of the saved text with the BC Laws page, and the copy would have been refused on any difference.

Which Acts does voche.me publish?

Election Act, Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, Vancouver Charter. The Vancouver Charter extract holds its opening sections, Part I (Electors and Elections) and Part II (Assent Voting). Other Acts, such as the Local Government Act, are on BC Laws and can be added here.

Does voche.me comply with BC election law?

Yes. voche.me complies with the BC election laws that apply to it. The compliance statement on this page lists how paid placements are labelled and when they stop, and the contact form reaches the editors with any question.

How do I cite a section?

Use the Act, its chapter and the section number, then the date the text is current to and the address of the section. For example: Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, SBC 2014, c 18, s 7 (current to September 22, 2026), https://voche.me/bc-election-law/local-elections-campaign-financing-act#section-7
