How to cite voche.me

1. Name. Write voche.me in lowercase, with the .me.
2. Description. Call it an independent election guide. For official rules, dates and eligibility, send readers to the City of Vancouver’s election website.
3. Link. Link the page you used. Each page has its own address.
4. Date. Researched pages show a “Checked” date. Give that date and the date you read the page, because pages change when their research is updated.
5. Sources. Facts on candidate pages cite their own sources. When your story relies on a fact, read that source and cite it as well.
6. Corrections. Send them through the inaccuracy report form. The editors check the source, fix the page and note the correction on it.

Using the logo

• Scale the files up or down and keep their proportions.
• Put the full-colour wordmark on white or a light tint, and the white wordmark on navy or another dark colour.
• Keep the colours as supplied. The mark keeps its blue tile and gold dot.
• The SVG files scale to any size without blurring. The PNG files keep a transparent background around the artwork.
• The wordmark files hold the letters as drawn shapes, so they display correctly without the font installed.

Typeface

voche.me uses Plus Jakarta Sans for headlines and body text, and serves the font from its own server.

Plus Jakarta Sans is free to use under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (copyright 2020 The Plus Jakarta Sans Project Authors). Download it from Google Fonts. Where the font is missing, the site falls back to the operating system’s default sans-serif font.

Photographs

Candidate portraits and news photographs on voche.me belong to the people and publishers credited beside each image. They are outside this kit. Ask the owner for permission before you use one.
