TrueBlue Vancouver on school safety: anti-bullying rules, police liaison officers

TrueBlue Vancouver would enforce strong rules against bullying, threats and harassment, applied the same way to every student, and support police liaison programs in Vancouver schools. It would give students a say on school issues while keeping trustees accountable to parents and voters.

Bullying, Police in Schools and Student Involvement: what the 2026 Full Election Platform says

TrueBlue Vancouver's schools section is aimed at the Vancouver Board of Education, where the party has candidates. On bullying and bigotry, the party would enforce strong rules against bullying, threats and harassment, and apply the same standards to every student in a fair way. The party has two School Board candidates of its own, plus its council candidate, who is also on the trustee ballot.

TrueBlue supports police liaison programs in Vancouver schools, in which police officers are assigned to work with schools. The party says these programs improve safety, build relationships and respond to violence, gangs, weapons and serious threats. The same text appears in its policing section on page 27. On student voice, the party would give students meaningful chances to give input on school issues, while keeping elected trustees accountable to parents and voters.

The Board of Education runs Vancouver's public schools, so trustees decide school conduct rules and whether to take part in a police program. The Vancouver Police Board directs the officers who would be assigned. Teacher pay and the provincial funding formula are set by the Province. The platform does not say how the board would measure whether bullying or violence goes down.
