The aim of Local Government and Democracy, in the party's words

TrueBlue Vancouver's approach to local government & democracy is organized around the following commitments.

The party's own words, 2026 Full Election Platform, page 19

The local government and democracy section of TrueBlue Vancouver's 2026 platform is on pages 19 to 21. It covers budgeting, good governance, public engagement and youth engagement.

The party would audit city spending, cut what it calls wasteful programs and bureaucracy, control taxes and focus money on core services. It would publish clear spending information and hold elected officials and city departments accountable for results. It would give residents a stronger voice before decisions on development, taxes, transportation and neighbourhood planning, and create ways for young people to speak to decision makers. On page 3, the party says programs should have clear goals, transparent costs and public reporting.

Each of these points is within City Council's power. Council approves the budget, decides what the city reports, and sets its own meeting rules and public consultation.
