History, Critical Thinking and Student Support: what the 2026 Full Election Platform says

The second part of TrueBlue Vancouver's schools section is about what students learn and how they are supported. On Indigenous schooling, the party would teach accurate Canadian and Indigenous history, end mandatory land acknowledgements and reject what it calls collective guilt. The same text appears in its reconciliation section on page 34. The platform gives no detail on which grades or courses this would affect.

Under the heading on media literacy and critical thinking, TrueBlue would teach students to question sources, examine evidence, recognize misinformation and debate different views with respect. For neurodivergent students, meaning students whose brains learn and process information differently, such as autistic students, the party would provide practical classroom supports and learning accommodations based on each student's individual needs. It gives no staffing figure.

The Board of Education runs Vancouver's public schools and approves the district budget, which pays for classroom support staff. The provincial funding formula sets how much money the board receives. The platform does not say which body would decide what history is taught. Trustees could set the board's own practices, such as land acknowledgements at board meetings and in schools.
