TrueBlue Vancouver on City Hall: spending audit, published spending, more say for residents
TrueBlue Vancouver would audit city spending, cut wasteful programs and bureaucracy, control taxes and focus money on core services. It would publish clear spending information, give residents a stronger voice before major decisions, and create ways for young people to speak to decision makers.

Budgeting, Good Governance and Engagement: what the 2026 Full Election Platform says
TrueBlue Vancouver's section on local government starts with money. The party would audit city spending, cut programs and bureaucracy it calls wasteful, control taxes and put taxpayer dollars into core municipal services. It would also publish clear spending information and hold elected officials and city departments accountable for results. On page 3, the party says new spending should be justified against existing priorities.
The other two policies are about who gets heard. TrueBlue would give residents a stronger voice before major decisions on development, taxes, transportation and neighbourhood planning are made. It would create opportunities for young Vancouverites to speak directly to decision makers and take part in civic affairs. The platform does not say what form these would take. The party's principles on page 3 say major changes to neighbourhoods, transportation and public spaces should include meaningful public engagement.
All of this is within City Council's power. Council approves the budget, decides what the city reports to the public, and sets its own meeting rules and public consultation. The Park Board and the School Board set their own rules for their own meetings. These policies concern how the city runs itself, so they need no other government. A council decision needs a majority of the 11 votes on Council.
