TEAM for a Livable Vancouver on parks
TEAM publishes more on parks than any other party, and it is the clearest dividing line between TEAM and the governing party.
The current council asked the province to amend the Vancouver Charter to eliminate the elected Park Board. TEAM commits to withdrawing that request and to transferring finance, operations and facilities back under Park Board control from the city’s planning, real estate and facilities departments.

Is the Park Board being abolished?
No. Seven commissioners are being elected on October 17, 2026. The current council asked the province to amend the Vancouver Charter to remove the board. TEAM would withdraw that request, and the mayor has since said he will not try to eliminate it if re-elected.
What does 1.1 hectares per 1,000 people mean?
It is a target for how much park land the city should have compared with how many people live here. One hectare is about the size of a rugby pitch and a half. TEAM says the figure matches earlier City and Park Board policy.
