Double mineral exports and buy B.C. and Canadian materials
The BC NDP would double critical mineral exports within five years, expand the Port of Prince Rupert, and require public projects to use B.C. and Canadian materials where a local supplier can deliver on budget and on time.
ECONOMY AND JOBS
BC NDP on economy
Most of the BC NDP’s campaign promises so far are about trade with the United States and new resource projects. The party says the goal is an economy that depends less on the United States.
On September 29, 2026 the party said it had “secured” the final decision to build Phase 2 of LNG Canada in Kitimat. The decision was announced by the companies that own LNG Canada, and the federal government welcomed it. The party’s description of its own role is its claim.
