ECONOMY AND JOBS
Centre BC on economy
In October 2025, under Karin Kirkpatrick, the party set five conditions for any pipeline to the North Coast: Indigenous co-ownership, a BC Energy Future Fund, safety and climate rules, local jobs and buying, and a clear legal path with full public information.
After the Crofton pulp mill closure was announced in December 2025, the party called for income support and retraining for workers, a steadier supply of wood for mills, faster permits, and a fund to help forestry towns through price drops.
The party’s values page says it supports small business and “responsible resource development”.
