ECONOMY AND JOBS
BC Green Party on economy
Under the heading "Economic Fairness for All", the BC Green Party says the province should get a larger return from its natural resources.
The party opposes the LNG Canada Phase 2 expansion. On 2026-09-29 Emily Lowan said public money should go to renewable energy and Canadian-owned industry. The party says Phase 2 will create at most 150 permanent jobs; voche.me has not checked that figure.
In August and September 2026 the party called for the new Oil and Gas Royalty Framework to be put on hold. MLA Rob Botterell said he had asked the Auditor General to investigate a gas royalty forecasting error.
The party’s Our Plan page, read on 2026-09-30, says its full platform is still to come.
