Past measures, and no new cost figure yet
The BC NDP says it will keep costs down for families during the trade conflict, and points to past measures on car insurance, health premiums and bridge tolls. No new measure with a dollar figure was published by September 30, 2026.
COST OF LIVING AND AFFORDABILITY
BC NDP on cost of living
At the start of the campaign the BC NDP said it would support workers and businesses hurt by U.S. tariffs and keep costs down for families. As of September 30, 2026 it had not published a new cost-of-living measure with a dollar figure.
The party says a typical working family with an income of $100,000 pays $3,000 less in provincial tax than under the BC Liberal government. This is the party’s own claim, and voche.me has not checked it.
Its “Results for You” page lists past measures the party says it took, such as cutting ICBC car insurance rates, ending Medical Services Plan premiums and removing bridge tolls. The page carries no date.
