LNG Canada to go ahead with Phase 2 in Kitimat, B.C.

LNG Canada announced its final decision to build Phase 2 in Kitimat, doubling capacity to 28 million tonnes a year. The BC NDP claimed a share of the credit in its own release the same day.

Eby called the election two years ahead of schedule, citing the trade conflict with the United States. The CBC reported that opponents called the move opportunist, and that health minister Ravi Kahlon and former emergency management minister Kelly Greene would not run again.
