COST OF LIVING AND AFFORDABILITY
Conservative Party of BC on cost of living
The party’s two cost-of-living commitments so far are about taxes: a pledge of no new taxes, and removal of the provincial sales tax on Canadian alcohol while the U.S. trade dispute lasts.
Black Press Media reported that Doerkson, asked about the cost of the alcohol tax cut, said the budget would lose some revenue. The party has published no estimate of that cost.
The platform page also lists “Common Sense Childcare”, described as a plan to expand affordable childcare spots and work with independent childcare providers. No text of that plan was published by September 30, 2026.
