COST OF LIVING AND AFFORDABILITY
Centre BC on cost of living
In February 2026, under Karin Kirkpatrick, the party said it would remove the provincial sales tax (PST) on food production and farm equipment to lower the price of food grown in BC.
In the same release, the party said it would treat child care as essential to the economy and make $10-a-day child care available to every family.
After the 2026 budget, the party criticised the increase in the lowest income tax rate, the pause in adjusting tax brackets for inflation, and the cut to tax credits for low-income families.
