Five Vancouver parties' campaign platforms compared on housing, safety and the economy

Daily Hive reported that Pete Fry and the Green Party of Vancouver promised to launch pre-approved housing designs, including prefabricated options, partner with Build Canada Homes to attract investment and fast-track qualifying projects, require Canadian procurement and employment, use mass timber and wood-frame construction, and streamline permitting for several housing types. The party also said it wants overdose prevention sites to be required by the province to be located away from public parks and schools, and committed to closer oversight of non-profit organizations and good neighbour agreements for public housing affected by street disorder. Under the proposal, CROW would be a 24/7 non-police, non-medical mobile response team that would attend non-emergency calls involving people experiencing homelessness, street-level addiction, public intoxication and mental health crises. The party said police and paramedics currently respond to situations that do not require their level of response.
