INDIGENOUS RECONCILIATION AND RIGHTS

Centre BC on reconciliation

In August 2026, leader Mike Bernier wrote that promises to repeal the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) are “more about political messaging than practical solutions”, and listed what CentreBC would do instead.

In March 2026 the party wrote that modern treaties such as Nisga’a and Tsawwassen show that negotiated agreements bring stability, and called for good-faith negotiation over court cases.

Indigenous co-ownership is the first of the party’s five conditions for any pipeline.
