PROVINCIAL TAXES AND THE BUDGET
Conservative Party of BC on taxes and budget
The party’s main budget commitment is its no-new-taxes pledge of September 27, 2026. Its release says the NDP raised the lowest income tax rate from 5.06 per cent to 5.60 per cent; that figure is the party’s own statement.
The Canadian Press reported on September 28 that Doerkson gave no details on how a Conservative government would balance the budget. He said it would be “almost impossible to commit to how quickly we will be able to arrive at balanced budgets”.
The platform page lists “A Free and Prosperous BC”, described as a plan to encourage investment and “get government working for taxpayers”. It did not open to published text on September 30, 2026.
