No new taxes, levies or fees, and an economic development office
One Delta's platform promises no new taxes, levies or fees for residents, a cap on property tax increases at the rate of inflation, a dedicated economic development office, a ban on business class travel for elected officials and staff, a new procurement strategy favouring local businesses, and a new recreation centre in North Delta paid for without new taxes.
TAXES AND THE CITY BUDGET
One Delta on budget
The platform's first promise is no new taxes, levies or fees for residents. It says community investments would be paid for by growing Delta's economy, attracting businesses and workers, and getting a fair share of senior government funding. A September 28, 2026 release on the site adds a cap on future property tax increases at the rate of inflation. The North Delta Reporter reported on September 4, 2026 that One Delta's deputy campaign manager said the no-new-taxes promise means keeping property tax increases in line with inflation.
The platform promises to open Delta's own economic development office to attract businesses to its industrial areas near Deltaport, a new procurement strategy that prioritizes local businesses, and a ban on business class travel for elected officials and staff.
The platform promises a new full-service recreation centre in North Delta without any new taxes, levies or fees. The Reporter reported that City staff estimated in June 2026 that such a facility could cost $150 million to $300 million, and that One Delta's plan to pay for major projects rests on senior government funding and a larger commercial and industrial tax base. The Reporter also reported that in December 2024, Council defeated Mayor Harvie's motion to fund a North Delta recreation centre with a two per cent levy and borrowing, with Kruger and his allies voting no.
