ALL FOUR ISSUES
Pick an issue
Each issue below is a real responsibility of an office on the Delta ballot. Every party on this site is covered on the same four, so a party cannot look complete by choosing which subjects to appear on.
Housing
One Delta's platform promises development focused on families, first-time buyers and seniors, an Official Community Plan update in the next term through the Province's five-year rule, a requirement for two stairwells in new multi-storey buildings, an update of the heritage inventory, the return of the Heritage Advisory Commission and Advisory Design Panel, stronger design guidelines, and protection of farmland and the tree canopy.
Budget
One Delta's platform promises no new taxes, levies or fees for residents, a cap on property tax increases at the rate of inflation, a dedicated economic development office, a ban on business class travel for elected officials and staff, a new procurement strategy favouring local businesses, and a new recreation centre in North Delta paid for without new taxes.
Governance
One Delta's platform promises to restore citizen-led committees, to publish how each councillor votes on each item, public timelines for development applications, competitive hiring with no patronage appointments, no extra pay for regional board seats, and the mayor's return to the Delta Police Board.
Schools
One Delta's school board platform has five parts: strong foundations in reading and math, safe schools, every student's success, healthy students, and support for the people who work in schools.
