A freeze on scheduled City fee increases in 2027 and low property tax increases
Achieving for Delta's 2026 platform promises to freeze scheduled City fee increases in 2027, to keep property tax increases among the lowest in Metro Vancouver, to protect police, fire and core services, and to grow the commercial and industrial tax base. It names no tax rate.
TAXES AND THE CITY BUDGET
Achieving for Delta on budget
Under its Sound theme, the platform promises to freeze scheduled City fee increases in 2027, to work to keep property tax increases among the lowest in Metro Vancouver, and to protect police, fire, emergency response and core services. It promises to work with local businesses, attract new investment and grow Delta's commercial and industrial tax base to reduce pressure on residential taxpayers.
The North Delta Reporter reported on September 4, 2026 that One Delta claimed Harvie had pledged a levy for a North Delta recreation centre, that the Reporter could not find such a pledge on the organization's site, and that a September 1 post on the organization's social media accounts referred to a December 2024 Council motion by Harvie to fund the centre with a two per cent levy and borrowing, which Council defeated. The post said the centre would already be funded if the motion had passed.
The platform's Secure theme promises improvements to McAdam Road, more bus shelters on 112 Street, 116 Street and Scott Road in North Delta, continued investment in parks and the YAK Pass, which gives free recreation access to youth under 18 and residents 75 and older, by the organization's account.
