ALL FOUR ISSUES
Pick an issue
Each issue below is a real responsibility of an office on the Delta ballot. Every party on this site is covered on the same four, so a party cannot look complete by choosing which subjects to appear on.
Housing
Delta First's platform promises an immediate public review of the Official Community Plan, engagement sessions in Ladner, Tsawwassen and North Delta, infrastructure impact assessments for major housing proposals, a challenge to the Province's Bill 44 housing rules, stronger design guidelines and tree protection, and a strategy for more non-market and affordable housing.
Budget
Delta First's platform promises a zero-based review of the City's budget, limits on property tax increases through savings found before new spending, public financial dashboards, clearer explanations of utility and tax rates, and an economic development vision for industrial land and the Tilbury area.
Governance
Delta First's platform promises an enforceable Council code of conduct with independent oversight, the return of public question period at regular Council meetings, citizen advisory committees in five policy areas, and an end to block voting on Council.
