WHO THEY ARE

About Delta First

Elections BC's Register of Elector Organizations by Jurisdiction, dated October 30, 2026, lists Delta First for the jurisdiction Delta only, with no other name and the ballot name Delta First. It names Tammy Hansen as the authorized principal official. The register has no row for Delta First under the Delta School District, and the organization ran no candidate for school trustee.

The City of Delta's candidates page prints Delta First as the organization of four candidates: Melissa Granum for mayor and Alexander Fischer, Tammy Hansen and Jat Puri for Council. The Chief Election Officer's declaration of October 21, 2026 names all four among the people elected. Granum had 16,197 votes in the three-way race for mayor; Hansen had 14,413, Fischer 12,947 and Puri 11,756 in the race for six council seats.

The North Delta Reporter reported on March 11, 2026 that Delta First was a new organization led by Granum, a former corporate planning manager of the Delta Police Department, with three council candidates: Leah Bach, Tammy Hansen and Jat Puri. The Reporter said four sitting councillors had announced a slate under the same name on February 12, 2026, and then learned that Delta First had applied to register that name with Elections BC days before them. On May 11, 2026, the Reporter reported that Bach had stepped back and that Alex Fischer, founder of Delta Voices for Responsible Development, had joined.

Daily Hive reported on October 18, 2026 that Granum had been elected mayor, defeating the mayor of eight years, George Harvie, and Councillor Dylan Kruger. The North Delta Reporter reported the same night that all four Delta First candidates were elected and that four of the six sitting councillors would not return.

The platform on the organization's site has four parts: accountable government, affordability and financial responsibility, livable neighbourhoods, and a safe and connected community. A separate First 90 Days plan, released in June 2026 by the Reporter's account, lists what the team would do first. The site's four-year vision page describes the aims in general words and names no project.
