History and past elections
2018 election: Harvie elected mayor
George Harvie, Delta's city manager for nearly 20 years by the North Delta Reporter's account, won the mayor's race against former police chief Jim Cessford. Four of the organization's council candidates and three of its trustee candidates were elected.
A full slate for 2022
Harvie announced a slate of six council candidates and seven trustee candidates. Board chair Val Windsor said it was the first time she had run with a team.
2022 election: a sweep of Council
Harvie was re-elected and all six council seats went to the organization's candidates. Six of its seven trustee candidates were elected; Nick Kanakos, who ran on his own, took the seventh seat.
Four councillors told they will not be endorsed
A letter dated December 2, 2025 told councillors Kruger, Boisvert, Johal and Binder that the organization would not endorse them in 2026, by the Delta Optimist's account. The four formed One Delta in 2026.
Harvie launches a campaign for a third term
Harvie announced his candidacy at Tsawwassen Springs with an initial slate. Nick Kanakos, the one trustee elected outside the slate in 2022, joined as a council candidate. The slate was completed on June 7, 2026.
2026 election: three of 14 candidates elected
The City's official results give Harvie 7,782 votes for mayor, third behind Melissa Granum (16,197) and Dylan Kruger (9,460). Alicia Guichon was elected to Council with 15,149 votes, the most of any council candidate, and Erica Beard (13,052) and Joe Muego (11,444) to the Board of Education. The Chief Election Officer declared the official results on October 21, 2026.
