WHO THEY ARE

About Achieving for Delta

Elections BC's Register of Elector Organizations by Jurisdiction, dated October 30, 2026, lists Achieving for Delta, with the other names A4D and AFD and the ballot name Achieving for Delta, for the jurisdictions Delta and Delta School District. It names Donald Sangster as the authorized principal official.

The City of Delta's candidates page prints Achieving for Delta as the organization of 14 candidates: George V. Harvie for mayor; Jennyfer Cassar, Jessie Dosanjh, Alicia Guichon, Nick Kanakos, Ikjot Sandhu-Sahota and Sonya Sangster for Council; and Erica Beard, Nimmi Daula, Joe Muego, Rick Ocean, Nenah Sandy, Sagar Sanghera and Umendra Singh for school trustee. The Chief Election Officer's declaration of October 21, 2026 names three of them among the people elected: Guichon, with the most votes of any council candidate (15,149), and trustees Beard (13,052) and Muego (11,444). Harvie had 7,782 votes for mayor, third of three.

The organization first ran in 2018. The North Delta Reporter reported that Harvie, a former city manager, won the mayor's chair that year, that four of its council candidates were elected, and that three of its four school trustee candidates were elected. The City's declaration of October 19, 2022 names Harvie, all six councillors and seven trustees elected in 2022; the Reporter says six of those trustees ran with Achieving for Delta, and the seventh, Nick Kanakos, ran on his own.

In December 2025 the organization told four of its councillors, Dylan Kruger, Daniel Boisvert, Jennifer Johal and Rod Binder, that it would not endorse them in 2026, by the Delta Optimist's account of a letter dated December 2. The four then formed One Delta. The Optimist reported that in May 2024 most of Council had voted to remove Harvie from the Metro Vancouver board, where he was chair.

The 2026 council platform on the organization's site has three themes, Safe, Sound and Secure, and its school trustee platform has three parts: the classroom, the budget and the community. The site's page on Harvie says the City kept taxes among the lowest in Metro Vancouver under his leadership. That is the organization's own account.
