WHO THEY ARE
About RITE Richmond
Elections BC's Register of Elector Organizations by Jurisdiction, dated October 30, 2026, lists RITE Richmond for Richmond, with no other names, and names Carol Day as the authorized principal official. Its own site spells out the name as the Richmond Independent Team of Electors.
The City's declaration of September 21, 2026 lists four RITE Richmond candidates, all for Councillor: Carol Day, Jerome Dickey, Laura Gillanders and Michael Wolfe. The City's official results of October 21, 2026 show Day second with 15,552 votes, 207 behind Gary Law, Wolfe third with 14,315 and Gillanders fifth with 13,122. Dickey had 9,017 votes and finished thirteenth.
Day has sat on Council since 2014, Wolfe since 2018 and Gillanders since 2022. Richmond News reported on election night that the three were the only incumbents re-elected apart from Andy Hobbs, and that RITE and the Richmond Citizens' Association, which ran together in 2018 and 2022, did not join forces in 2026.
Elections BC's scanned reports search lists disclosure statements from RITE Richmond for the 2014, 2018 and 2022 general elections and the 2021 by-election, and annual financial reports for 2021 to 2025. The organization's Ethics page says its members have always been free to vote on opposite sides of an issue.
Its platform page names four things it says RITE councillors delivered in the last term: keeping homes off a block of the Steveston waterfront, a new board at the Olympic Oval, independent forensic audits, and the Richmond Housing Office. The record section below sets each beside the City's own record.

Wolfe said he would raise taxes to pay for more police officers and firefighters. | 4 |
