WHAT THIS BODY DOES

What you are electing

Councillors are elected across the whole City, and every voter in Richmond chooses from the same list. The City’s candidate list says eight councillors are to be elected.

Section 115 of the Community Charter lists the duties of every council member: to consider the well-being and interests of the municipality and its community, to contribute to the development and evaluation of its policies and programs, and to take part in council meetings, committee meetings and the meetings of other bodies they are appointed to.
