About Tasha Kheiriddin

Tasha Kheiriddin appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Toronto District School Board in Ward 7. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as June 25, 2026 and a campaign website, votetasha.ca. Her X profile for the national columnist account says “Writer @PostmediaNews” and “candidate TDSB Ward 7”, and her campaign account on X says she is running in Ward 7.

Her campaign website says she is a graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Law, began her career as a lawyer and worked for the Attorney General of Ontario, taught at McGill’s Max Bell School of Public Policy, and is a fellow at Carleton University’s Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management. It says she has been involved on school councils since 2014 and is the current chair of the Rosedale Heights School of the Arts School Advisory Council. Those are her campaign’s own statements, and voche.me did not check them with the university, the Ontario government or the school.

A Hill Times article dated May 4, 2022 carries the headline “Family is the guidepost for Charest campaign co-chair Tasha Kheiriddin”, and its opening text says she co-chaired Jean Charest’s Conservative leadership campaign. The article is open to paying subscribers only and voche.me read only the opening text. Her campaign site does not mention that role.

Her campaign website shows endorsements from John Tory, listed as Mayor of Toronto from 2014 to 2023, George Smitherman, listed as MPP for Toronto Centre from 1999 to 2010 and Deputy Premier from 2006 to 2009, and Linda Frum, listed as a Senator from 2009 to 2021. Those titles are as the campaign prints them. The site prints the same quotation under the names of Tory and Frum, so voche.me attributes no wording to either of them.

TDSB wards changed for 2026. Ward 7 covers City wards 11, 12 and 13, which the candidates’ own sites call University-Rosedale, Toronto-St. Paul’s and Toronto Centre. Her website says she is running so that the province can end supervision. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision the powers of trustees rest with the provincially appointed Supervisor, that trustees have no official duties with the board at this time, and that this also applies to trustees elected in October 2026.

She holds no seat on the TDSB or on City Council on any record voche.me opened.

What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, two pages of her campaign website (home and About), her Know Your Vote T.O. answers, her two public X profiles, the opening text of a May 4, 2022 Hill Times article and the TDSB’s trustee wards page. Her background and her school council role come from her campaign website and are attributed to it. A Wikipedia page about her was also opened. It carries a notice asking for additional citations, so nothing from it is used.

Gaps. Her Facebook page returned only the account name and her Instagram page opened as a login page, so nothing from either is used. A Trillium article and a TorontoToday article about the Ward 7 race refused the page request (HTTP 403), so nothing from them is used, and voche.me did not confirm her Postmedia column work with Postmedia. The Hill Times article is open to paying subscribers only beyond its opening text. The Know Your Vote T.O. answers are her own statements. No board minutes apply because she holds no board role. The questionnaire has not been sent.

Experience & community

Current, by her campaign’s account

Chair, Rosedale Heights School of the Arts School Advisory Council

Her website says she is the current chair and has been involved on school councils since 2014. voche.me did not check this with the school.
