About Curtis Jack

Curtis Jack appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Toronto District School Board in Ward 11. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as July 29, 2026 and a campaign website, votecurtisjack.ca. Ward 11 covers City wards 21 and 23, Scarborough Centre and Scarborough North.

The Local’s article of August 24, 2026 calls him a first-time candidate in Ward 11 and says the province’s changes to public education over the past year were a major reason he ran. It reports that he is a member of a school parent council, that he has seen parents’ frustration over the board’s funding limits and over its change to the model schools program, and that he would like more control to return from the province to local communities. The article quotes him: “I think there needs to be some increased grassroots involvement in things of this nature.”

On his Know Your Vote T.O. page he answered all four questions in his own words. He writes that he would protect classroom funding and special education by reducing administrative overhead, push the province to update its funding models and audit TDSB spending, and cap outlier class sizes. He credits himself with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets, which is his own statement and unchecked. The Know Your Vote T.O. team checks that answers meet its content standards and does not check that they are true.

What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, his Know Your Vote T.O. page, the home page of his campaign website, The Local’s article of August 24, 2026 on trustee candidates, the TDSB’s trustee wards page, the City Clerk’s 2022 declaration of results and the TDSB’s 2018 to 2022 trustee list. His priorities come from his own answers and are written as his own account. His parent council membership is The Local’s report of what he told it.

TDSB wards changed for 2026. Ward 11 covers City wards 21 and 23, which the City’s list names Scarborough Centre and Scarborough North. The TDSB’s 2018 to 2022 trustee list names the old Ward 17 as Scarborough Centre and the old Ward 21 as Scarborough North, and the City Clerk’s 2022 results show Neethan Shan elected in the old Ward 17 and Yalini Rajakulasingam elected in the old Ward 21. The old Ward 11 was Don Valley West, a different area from the new Ward 11 in Scarborough. The TDSB’s trustee wards page says that during provincial supervision the powers of trustees rest with the provincially appointed Supervisor, that trustees have no official duties with the board at this time, and that this also applies to trustees elected in October 2026. voche.me found no TDSB page that names a current trustee for the Scarborough Centre or Scarborough North area, so it names none. The City Clerk’s 2022 results for the TDSB list no entry under this candidate’s name.

Gaps. His campaign website answered with its title only, because its text is loaded by script, so no page of it could be read. His Instagram page showed a name and follower counts and no post text, and his LinkedIn page showed a sign-in prompt. The Local’s article is the only news report found. No public role is on record, so no minutes were searched. The questionnaire has not been sent.
