The Salmon Arm Observer and CFJC Today Kamloops each published the same four names that day. The Observer says the other three candidates have past political experience in the 2024 provincial election or the 2025 federal election, and that Presch is new to local politics.
In 2024 David L. Williams won the district for the Conservative Party with 16,566 votes (52.11 percent). Sylvia Lindgren (BC NDP) had 9,677 votes (30.44 percent), Greg McCune (Independent) 2,922 (9.19 percent), Jed Wiebe (BC Green Party) 2,250 (7.08 percent) and Sherry Roy (Independent) 373 (1.17 percent). On September 29, 2026 Juno News reported that CTV had said OneBC would not run a candidate against David Williams in this district. Juno News quoted a post by OneBC's communications director, Wyatt Claypool, saying that CTV had made an error and that OneBC was running in Salmon Arm-Shuswap. A candidate for the party is on the Elections BC list.

Sources checked October 3, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No biography, photograph, campaign website, social media account, interview or all-candidates meeting naming her was found on 2026-10-03. OneBC's candidates page, read on that date, did not list her, and its plan page does not name her. The domains barbarapresch.ca and barbarapresch.com returned no answer when voche.me requested them. The party's own accounts (X: One_BCHQ, Instagram: onebcpartyhq) are linked from the OneBC site, and voche.me did not read their posts. The web search tool was at its usage limit, so the name search used Google News feeds for the name with Shuswap, Salmon Arm, OneBC and candidate, which returned the Salmon Arm Observer and CFJC Today Kamloops reports of October 3, 2026. A Bing page returned only unrelated results, a DuckDuckGo request was stopped by a verification page, and a Google web search page and a Facebook search page returned no results. A Google News result titled Barbara Presch from The White River Valley Herald, and a 2019 Salmon Arm Observer column on a Presch family, appeared in the searches. voche.me did not open the first and found nothing that ties either to this candidate, so neither is used. Her occupation, where she lives, her work history, any earlier campaign, her positions beyond the OneBC plan, campaign finances and endorsements were not found. The Juno News report of September 29, 2026 is a report of a CTV report and a post on X, and voche.me did not read the CTV report or the post.

What voche.me has checked
Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list (copy stamped 4:00 p.m. on October 3, 2026), Elections BC's page of key dates and its statement of votes for the 2024 election, OneBC's candidates page and plan page, and reports by the Salmon Arm Observer, CFJC Today Kamloops and Juno News.
No campaign website, party page or social media account of hers was found, and no statement in her own words was found. The OneBC plan page does not name her, so its pledges are listed as the party's. The web search tool was at its usage limit, so the name search ran through Google News feeds and the pages named under research gaps. An empty section records what voche.me did not find on this date.
