About Teresa Colonna

Teresa Colonna appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Toronto Catholic District School Board in Ward 10. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as May 1, 2026. Ward 10 covers City ward 5 (York South-Weston).

The City Clerk’s 2022 results list Daniel Di Giorgio as elected in Ward 10. The Local reports that Di Giorgio is one of three trustees running for city councillor this year, so he is not a candidate for this seat.

Her campaign website, teresacolonna.ca, is the address she gave the City. It says she is a parent advocate and community leader with more than seven years as Catholic School Parent Council chair and experience as a TCDSB delegate, and that she founded a non-profit that has supported marginalized people for more than 25 years. It lists four priorities: safe and accepting schools, Catholic values in action, accountability and transparency, and community partnerships. These are the campaign’s own statements and voche.me has not checked them with the board or the groups named.

The Local’s article of August 24, 2026 calls her a first-time candidate in Ward 10. It quotes her saying that every decision must put children first, that teachers need to be heard, and that she believes the board could do a better job of representing Catholic values. The City Clerk’s 2022 results list no candidate named Teresa Colonna for the board, and voche.me read no board minutes, so it cites no vote.

What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, her campaign website, her Know Your Vote T.O. page, the City Clerk’s 2022 declaration of results, The Local’s article of August 24, 2026 on trustee candidates and Wikipedia’s page on the 2026 election. Name, office, ward and nomination date are as the City prints them. Know Your Vote T.O. is a Toronto Public Library project in which candidates write their own answers. The library checks them against its content standards and does not check whether they are true.

The website’s claims are the campaign’s own and are attributed in the text. The website also carries a quotation from a supporter, which voche.me does not repeat. The City Clerk’s 2022 declaration lists no candidate named Teresa Colonna for the Toronto Catholic District School Board. The TCDSB’s trustee pages loaded only a browser check, so no board record was read and no recorded vote is cited. The sitting trustees come from the City Clerk’s 2022 results, The Local and Wikipedia. The Local reports that the province took over the TCDSB in June 2025 and that, while the board is under provincial supervision, the job of Catholic board trustees is limited to denominational matters.

Gaps. Her Facebook page gave nothing readable. Her Know Your Vote T.O. page holds no answer from her. No board minutes were read, so no recorded vote is cited. The questionnaire has not been sent.
