Know Your Vote T.O. · Rosina Bonavota, TCDSB Ward 901 / Introduction
About Rosina Bonavota
Rosina Bonavota appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Toronto Catholic District School Board in Ward 9. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 20, 2026. Ward 9 covers City wards 10 (Spadina-Fort York), 11 (University-Rosedale), 12 (Toronto-St. Paul’s) and 13 (Toronto Centre).
The City Clerk’s 2022 results list Kevin Morrison as elected in Ward 9. The Local reports that Morrison is one of three trustees running for city councillor this year, so he is not a candidate for this seat.
In her Know Your Vote T.O. answers, which she wrote herself, she says her priority would be improving student achievement, using data to find gaps and set clear goals. She describes the trustee role as governance and policy leadership that holds administrators accountable for results, and she says daily staffing is handled by the director of education and superintendents. She mentions policy experience without naming an employer, and voche.me has not checked it.
The City Clerk’s 2022 results and The Local’s 2022 candidate guide for City ward 10 each list a Ward 9 candidate with the same name. voche.me found no source that ties either entry to this candidate, so it states no 2022 result and no earlier campaign. voche.me read no board minutes, so it cites no vote.

What voche.me has checked
Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, her Know Your Vote T.O. page, the City Clerk’s 2022 declaration of results, The Local’s 2022 candidate guide for City ward 10, The Local’s article of August 24, 2026 on trustee candidates and Wikipedia’s page on the 2026 election. Name, office, ward and nomination date are as the City prints them. Know Your Vote T.O. is a Toronto Public Library project in which candidates write their own answers. The library checks them against its content standards and does not check whether they are true.
A result belongs to a candidate only when a named source ties that entry to this person, and a matching name alone is not enough. The City Clerk’s 2022 declaration and The Local’s 2022 guide list a candidate with the same name, and no source ties either to this candidate, so neither is used. The TCDSB’s trustee pages loaded only a browser check, so no board record was read and no recorded vote is cited. The sitting trustees come from the City Clerk’s 2022 results, The Local and Wikipedia. The Local reports that the province took over the TCDSB in June 2025 and that, while the board is under provincial supervision, the job of Catholic board trustees is limited to denominational matters.
Gaps. No website, social account, news report for 2026 or board record was found for her. No board minutes were read, so no recorded vote is cited. The questionnaire has not been sent.
