In answers published by Build Canada, she said Yes to permitting far more housing as of right (without a separate approval for each project), with the note that it depends on the ward map, No to requiring a person to leave an encampment, Yes to road pricing, and No to raising additional local revenue for infrastructure repair. She chose lighting, maintenance, sanitation and active use of streets and parks as the area for the most added public safety investment, and chose the option “Remain approximately constant after inflation” for the police budget.
In TTCriders’ questionnaire she is listed as answering Yes to a fare freeze and to a lower fare cap. She wrote that she believes the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) could be publicly owned with no fare increase, and that Toronto residents already pay a high amount for transit and should expect a system that is reliable, safe, affordable and accountable. Her focus, she wrote, would be fewer delays, faster repairs, clearer communication, dependable service and responsible use of public money.
