About Gianfranco Cristiano
Gianfranco Cristiano appears on the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates for Toronto Catholic District School Board in Ward 5. A certified candidate is one whose nomination the City Clerk has accepted. The list shows the nomination date as August 6, 2026. Ward 5 covers City wards 6 (York Centre), 8 (Eglinton-Lawrence) and 18 (Willowdale).
His Know Your Vote T.O. page marks all four questions “Awaiting submission”. The City Clerk’s 2022 results list a Gianfranco Cristiano among the Ward 5 candidates. No source for 2026 states that the candidate on the 2026 list is the same person, so voche.me attaches no earlier result or biography to this record. The sitting Ward 5 trustee, Maria Rizzo, is the other candidate on the City’s list for the ward.

What voche.me has checked
Evidence reviewed on October 4, 2026: the City of Toronto’s list of certified candidates, his Know Your Vote T.O. page, the City Clerk’s 2022 declaration of results, The Local’s article of August 24, 2026 on trustee candidates and Wikipedia’s page on the 2026 election. Name, office, ward and nomination date are as the City prints them.
The City Clerk’s 2022 results list Maria Rizzo elected in Ward 5 with 5,122 votes, and Wikipedia’s page on the 2026 election lists her as the incumbent registered to run again. The Local reports that the province took over the TCDSB in June 2025 and that, while the board is under provincial supervision, the job of Catholic board trustees is limited to denominational matters. voche.me found no board page that compares the 2022 and 2026 TCDSB ward boundaries, so a 2022 result is stated for the ward as numbered in 2022. The TCDSB’s trustee pages loaded only a browser check, so voche.me read no board page.
Gaps. The City’s list shows no campaign website for him, and The Local’s 2026 article carries no statement from him. voche.me found no 2026 source that ties an earlier candidacy to the person on the 2026 list, so it states no earlier result. Know Your Vote T.O. holds no answer from him. Empty sections record that nothing was verified, and the questionnaire has not been sent.
