Suhana Gill is running for one of eight seats on Surrey City Council with the Safe Surrey Coalition, the elector organization led by Doug McCallum. The Runner, Kwantlen Polytechnic University's student newspaper, reported in September 2026 that she was the Kwantlen Student Association's women's representative for the 2024 to 2025 term and graduated with a bachelor of arts in political science in June. The Surrey Board of Trade named her one of Surrey's Top 25 Under 25 in 2024, and the Surrey Now-Leader gave her the top honour in its 2024 Environmental Leader category. About Suhana Gill

Suhana Gill is on the City of Surrey's Declaration of Election by Voting of September 21, 2026, as a candidate for Councillor. Her profile page on surrey.ca lists the Safe Surrey Coalition as her elector organization, and the Coalition's team page lists her among its council candidates.

The Runner reported on September 7, 2026 that she was the Kwantlen Student Association's women's representative for the 2024 to 2025 term, and that she chaired the association's governance and university affairs committees. Her party's page says she was the youngest person ever elected to that role and represented more than 22,000 students; those are the party's own figures.

The same report says she graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University with a bachelor of arts in political science in June 2026. In June 2024 the university reported that she finished high school two years early and began at Kwantlen at 16, first in business studies and then in political science. CBC News described her as 19 in April 2026.

She told The Runner that she works as a real estate agent, which she said gives her a view of Surrey's housing market and of what young families face when they try to buy a home. In 2024 the university described her as a marketing strategist in her family's farm business.

The Surrey Board of Trade listed her among its 14th annual Top 25 Under 25 winners in March 2024, with the organizations B.R Enterprises and Bluer & Greener. The Surrey Now-Leader reported that she received the top honour in the Environmental Leader category of its 2024 Community Leader Awards, presented on November 21, 2024. The paper describes Bluer & Greener, which she founded, as an advocacy platform about climate change. Kwantlen reported in 2024 that Drishti Magazine named her one of its Top 15 Women of Influence Breaking Barriers.

CBC Radio's On the Coast interviewed her as a Kwantlen student on July 18, 2025 about whether Canada should lower the voting age to 16. In an April 2026 report on social media rules for young people, CBC News quoted her saying that social media has shaped who she is, and that online platforms let her build a following of 22,000 and speak about civic engagement and women's empowerment.

Statement

No personal campaign website was found: the website she gave the City is her party's. No post on her social media was read, because those sites need a login. The House of Commons work, the SurreyCares committee seat, the Soroptimist award and the City committee seat are claimed by her or her party and were not confirmed by the body that would know. Kwantlen's news page refused a direct request and was read through the WebFetch tool, which returned a summary.

What the Safe Surrey Coalition promises

These are the Safe Surrey Coalition's promises, from its platform page, which names Doug McCallum as the one making them. Suhana Gill's own statements are in the priorities above.

What voche.me has checked

Researched on 2026-10-09 through the seven search steps listed below: the City's Declaration of Election by Voting and her profile page, her party's team and platform pages, The Runner, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, the Surrey Board of Trade, Drishti Magazine, the Surrey Now-Leader and CBC.

Her statement on the City's profile page and her party's biography also say that she worked with the House of Commons, worked in the non-profit sector, sits on a fund development committee of the SurreyCares Community Foundation and received a Soroptimist International Ruby Award. A profile on the Canadian Council of Young Feminists' site says she sits on the City of Surrey's Environment and Climate Change Committee. voche.me did not find a record from the House of Commons, SurreyCares, Soroptimist International or the City that confirms these, so they are her own and her party's statements only. The City's page for that committee no longer exists, and the Internet Archive copy could not be opened on 2026-10-09.
