01 / Introduction
About Pavneet Singh
Elections BC lists Pavneet Singh as the Conservative Party of BC candidate in Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream. Castanet and KelownaNow report that the party named him on September 23, 2026, a few hours after former MP Tracy Gray said she wanted to run for the party in the district. Castanet reports that the early election call left no time for full nomination votes, so the party is appointing candidates in most districts.
The district's sitting MLA is Tara Armstrong. She won the seat in 2024 for the Conservative Party with 14,303 votes (53.92 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. The legislature now lists her as Independent. Pavneet Singh was not on the 2024 ballot.
He won the BC United nomination for Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream on November 25, 2023, against three other candidates, according to the Vernon Morning Star. On September 28, 2024, after BC United stopped its campaign, he ended his own campaign and said he supported Tara Armstrong, according to the Kelowna Daily Courier and Vernon Matters.
The Kelowna Daily Courier reports that he owns several fast-food franchises and gas stations in the Kelowna area. KelownaNow names Freshslice, Pita Pit and One Stop by Canco locations. In 2023 his campaign website said he came to the Okanagan as an international student and worked as a dishwasher before he became a business owner, as quoted by Vernon Matters. The party says he has lived in the Okanagan for more than 25 years.
My East Kootenay Now reports that he became the party's vice-president on August 20, 2026, replacing Sharon White. The party says he was earlier a director at large on its board. In October 2025, Castanet reported that he was the only member of the party's management committee who did not sign a letter asking then-leader John Rustad to resign.

Replace Rutland Middle School (2024)
As the BC United candidate in 2024, he wrote that Rutland Middle School must be replaced, and that as MLA he would push until students were in a new school. When he left the race in September 2024, he said he hoped Tara Armstrong would act on it.
Evidence & next checks
Evidence reviewed
He said this during his 2024 campaign for another party. voche.me has not found a 2026 statement from him that repeats it, so it is shown as earlier material. The 2024 column gave no cost and no date.
What still needs checking
Does his 2026 campaign repeat this, with a cost and a year?
His past roles come from reporting and from the party. The one dated action is a party matter and earns no score.
Reported by an independent news outlet
Did not sign the committee letter asking John Rustad to resign
Castanet reported that he was the only member of the party's management committee who did not sign the letter asking then-leader John Rustad to resign, and quoted him saying he believed in Rustad.
Scope, limits and sources
The date is the day Castanet published the report. A party committee role is a private party matter, so this entry earns no score.

Statement
Speech after winning the BC United nomination
The Vernon Morning Star reports that he thanked his supporters and said he wanted to meet people across the new district to learn the issues that matter to them.
He said he was ending his campaign because staying in the race could split the vote, and that he supported Tara Armstrong. He named crime, health care, housing and the deficit as problems a new government must address.
iNFOnews quotes a social media statement in which he said he was proud to stand with the party and would work to earn the chance to represent the community.
Records are labelled by type, including official findings, civil proceedings and political disputes where applicable. Each entry identifies the response found in the sources and the latest status verified for this page.

Party picks Singh over Tracy Gray
Reports that the party chose him a few hours after former MP Tracy Gray said she wanted to run, and describes his businesses and his party role.
Sources checked September 30, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No campaign website for his 2026 run was found, and the party's candidate page links to none. No policy statement from his 2026 campaign was found; the one commitment here is from his 2024 BC United campaign. His X account was read by a direct request and shows posts on his candidacy and an endorsement from former MLA Norm Letnick, with no dates in the text read, so no post is used as a dated entry. His Facebook and Instagram accounts were not read. The party's candidate page shows the label "Interim Conservative Party Leader" above his name. The party's own team page names Lorne Doerkson as leader, and reporting describes him as vice-president, so voche.me does not repeat that label. Castanet names his pizza franchise Happyslice, while KelownaNow names it Freshslice; voche.me has not checked which is right. His business ownership, his time in the Okanagan and his start as an international student come from reporting and from his campaigns; voche.me has not checked them with business or government records. All-candidates meetings other than the Kelowna Chamber forum, his campaign finances and his endorsements were not found on this date.
