About Pam Alexis

Elections BC lists Pam Alexis as the BC NDP candidate in Abbotsford-Mission for the election of October 24, 2026. The seat has no member: the Province says Reann Gasper resigned as MLA on August 22, 2026, and Abbotsford News reports she stepped down so Conservative leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay could run for it.

The BC NDP named Alexis for the byelection on August 29, 2026, the day it was called for September 26. Abbotsford News reports that the byelection was cancelled when the legislature was dissolved for the general election, and that the party named her again for October 24 in a release on September 27.

In 2024 she ran as the sitting MLA and lost the seat. The statement of votes gives her 10,894 votes (44.62 percent) and Reann Gasper, Conservative Party, 13,523 (55.38 percent).

The City of Mission, in the text it read when it gave her its Freedom of the City Medal on April 16, 2026, says she was a school trustee from 2005 to 2011, a city councillor from 2014 to 2018, mayor from 2018 to 2020, and MLA for Abbotsford-Mission from 2020 to 2024. The same text says she was Minister of Agriculture and Food from December 7, 2022 to November 18, 2024. Government releases from 2023 and 2024 quote her with that title.

The party says she has served on the boards of the Mission Chamber of Commerce and the Mission Rotary Club. The City of Mission says she joined the Mission Rotary Club in 2001.
