About Mike Wisla

Elections BC's candidate list, dated October 3, 2026, shows Mike Wisla as the BC NDP candidate in Kamloops Centre, beside Annelise Beach (BC Green Party) and Peter Milobar (Conservative Party). The list shows only nominations that Elections BC has accepted, and nominations could still be filed until 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026, so it can still change.

CFJC Today reported on October 1, 2026 that the BC NDP named Wisla and Kory Clark as its candidates in Kamloops Centre and Kamloops-North Thompson. The station calls both of them rookie politicians and describes Kamloops Centre as the closer of the two races.

Wisla told CFJC News: "Right now, I work with health care. Before that I worked in education, I was a teacher for a number of years." He added that earlier in life he worked in mining and a little in forestry. Those are his own statements, and voche.me has not checked them with an employer, a school district or a union.

Elections BC's statement of votes gives the 2024 result in the district. Peter Milobar won with 12,372 votes (48.83 percent). Kamal Grewal, the BC NDP candidate that year, had 10,369 votes (40.92 percent), a gap of 2,003 votes.

Only one 2026 report that quotes him was readable: CFJC Today, October 1, 2026. Castanet's report of the same day returned an access refusal, so nothing from it is used. His campaign page redirected to itself and showed no text about him. No interview, platform statement, all-candidates meeting or social media account of his own was found on this date, and no 2026 forum for the district appears on the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce events page or in InfoNews' guide of September 29, 2026. His work in health care, teaching and mining is his own account. The Health Sciences Association of BC lists a staff member named Mike Wisla on its Occupational Health and Safety Committee page, and a search listed a person of the same name as a former teacher in Ashcroft. voche.me has no opened source that ties either listing to the candidate, so it does not use them. Campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date.
