About Lisa Beare
Lisa Beare is the BC NDP candidate in Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows on Elections BC’s list for the general election of October 24, 2026. She won the district in 2024 with 14,480 votes, 54.89% of the valid vote, against Mike Morden of the Conservative Party, according to the Elections BC statement of votes.
The legislature record lists her election years as 2017, 2020 and 2024, and shows her as Minister of Education and Child Care from November 18, 2024. The government named her Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture on July 18, 2017, and Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills on February 20, 2024, after a term as Minister of Citizens’ Services.
In the legislature in 2026 she answered questions on school funding, education assistants, the pause to new $10-a-day child care enrolment, and school safety after the Tumbler Ridge shootings.
