Check the evidence
Sources checked September 30, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No campaign website, social media account, interview, all-candidates meeting or news report about his Richmond Centre campaign was found on 2026-09-30. The party website does not answer on a secure connection, so this page links to Internet Archive copies saved on 2026-09-30. The address printed on its contact page, www.canwestparty.ca, did not answer. The party's contact page lists a Lawrence Chen as president, and its news conference page lists Wei Ping Chen as president; voche.me has not found a source that says whether the president is the Richmond Centre candidate. The party's site also has a profile page for a Lawrence Chen, linked under "2026-10-17 Local Election", with a biography and goals about schools. The City of Richmond lists a Lawrence Chen as a candidate for school trustee in the October 17, 2026 local election with no elector organization, and his City statement repeats the education history on that profile. School District 46 lists a Lawrence Chen of Richmond as a trustee candidate on the Sunshine Coast, and Richmond News reports he is running for trustee in both places. Elections BC's 2013 statement of votes shows a Lawrence Chen as the Conservative Party candidate in Richmond Centre, with 961 votes (5.06 percent). No source read on this date says any of these is the same person as the 2026 Richmond Centre candidate, so none of that biography or record is used here and no portrait is shown. His education, work history and past roles are unverified.
