01 / Introduction
About Kristina Loewen
Kristina Loewen is the Conservative Party of BC candidate in Kelowna Centre on Elections BC’s list for the general election of October 24, 2026. In 2024 she won the new district with 11,033 votes, 42.85% of the valid vote, 40 votes more than BC NDP candidate Loyal Wooldridge, according to the Elections BC statement of votes. The Northern View reported on November 8, 2024 that a judge declared her elected after a recount.
The legislature record lists her as a Conservative member first elected in 2024. Castanet reported in March 2025 that the party named her its critic for Social Development and Poverty Reduction. In 2026 she asked questions in the legislature on food banks, seniors in poverty, a patient waiting for a liver transplant and mental health care, and spoke at length against Bill 9, which changes the rules for freedom-of-information requests.
She has called for provincial action on intimate partner violence since Bailey McCourt was killed in Kelowna in July 2025. In a statement on June 17, 2026, published by the Conservative caucus, she said she would keep pushing for GPS monitoring with alerts to victims and a provincial registry of domestic violence offenders.
The party’s candidate page says she worked in real estate, as a care aide and as a doula, and as a youth leader. Those are the party’s own statements. Vernon Matters reported on September 23, 2026 that she would seek re-election. iNFOnews reported that she did not attend the Kelowna Centre forum in 2024 and that she says she plans to attend this time.
