My Prince George Now
Giddens to run as Conservative candidate in Prince George-Mackenzie
Reports that Giddens accepted the Conservative nomination after first being named the BC United candidate.
Sources checked September 30, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No campaign website of his own was found; the party candidate page is the only campaign page. The party candidate page labels him "Interim Conservative Party Leader", which no other source supports, so that label is left out. His posts on X, Facebook and Instagram could not be read, because each shows a sign-in page. The Labour and Mining estimates debates (April and May 2026), the Bill 10 committee stage, the Bill 5 and Bill 2 debates, the motions on human rights and liquor in theatres, and the Lobbyists Transparency Act committee report were not read line by line. Several Prince George Citizen articles returned HTTP 403 and were not used. The party platform page says the platform is coming soon and does not name him. No 2026 all-candidates meeting for Prince George-Mackenzie was found. His work in the LNG sector, his time as chief of staff to two ministers, his term as Prince George Chamber of Commerce president and his board roles come from his own and his party's pages and were not checked against the bodies involved. Campaign finances and endorsements were not reviewed. The questionnaire has not been sent.
