In the 2024 election Sunita Dhir won Vancouver-Langara with 8,506 votes (48.43 percent), 419 votes ahead of Conservative Bryan Breguet with 8,087 (46.05 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. voche.me searched the whole statement for the surname Stein and found no match on 2026-10-01.

Vancouver Is Awesome reported on July 11, 2024 that Michael Lee, then the BC United MLA for Vancouver-Langara, would not seek re-election and that BC United had found Jaime Stein to run in the district. On September 17, 2024 his account on X posted a statement saying he would end his BC United campaign after that party suspended its own. The Jewish Independent later reported that he did not run in the 2024 election after BC United endorsed the BC Conservatives.

In the Vancouver City Council by-election of April 5, 2025 he ran on the ABC Vancouver slate. The City's declaration of official results names Sean Orr and Lucy Maloney as the two councillors elected. The Jewish Independent reported unofficial election night figures that placed him sixth with 9,267 votes.

The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center lists him on its staff page as Director, Western Canada. The party says he spent two decades in broadcasting and technology, with roles at Hootsuite, BroadbandTV, ICUC and Taplytics, and that he holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management. It also says he worked with Canadian Blood Services on a national campaign that raised $12.5 million for Canada's first public cord blood bank, and that he received the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025. voche.me has not checked these statements with the employers, the school, Canadian Blood Services or the Governor General's office.

His profile on X lists three issues: lower costs, health care and safe streets. The party's candidate page names the same three. voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

No campaign website of his own was found on 2026-10-01. His X account answered a direct request without signing in, but the page returned only the profile line, so his 2026 posts were not read. His Instagram (jaimesteinbc) and Facebook (jaimesteinbc) pages showed only a page title to direct reads, so nothing from them is used. A YouTube channel named Jaime Stein appeared in a search and was not opened. His 2024 BC United donation page at secure.votebcunited.ca did not answer. His September 17, 2024 statement on X is an image with no text version, so it is described and never quoted. The party's candidate page labels him "Interim Conservative Party Leader"; the party's team page lists him only as the Vancouver-Langara candidate, so voche.me does not repeat that label. His broadcasting career, his technology roles, his MBA from the Rotman School of Management, his journalism degree, his work with Canadian Blood Services, his role at CLEAR, his committee roles with the Jewish Federation, his CJPAC advisory role, his Wexner fellowship and his King Charles III Coronation Medal are stated by the party; voche.me has not checked them with those bodies. The City of Vancouver's declaration names only the two councillors elected in 2025. The full official vote count for each 2025 candidate was not read, because vancouver.ca returns HTTP 403 and the Internet Archive went offline during the search, so his vote figure comes from the Jewish Independent's unofficial election night report. The party's platform page says the platform is coming soon and does not name him, and no party news release naming him was found. All-candidates meetings in Vancouver-Langara, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. Nominations close October 3, 2026, so other candidates may still be added. The questionnaire has not been sent.
