01 / Introduction
About Christine Kinnie
Elections BC lists Christine Kinnie as the BC Green Party candidate in Surrey-White Rock. On the copy of the list stamped October 1, 2026 11:00:06 PM, two candidates are shown for the district: Trevor Halford of the Conservative Party and Christine Kinnie of the BC Green Party. Nominations close at 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026, so more candidates may be added.
In 2024 Trevor Halford won Surrey-White Rock for the Conservative Party with 14,667 votes (52.31 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. Darryl Walker of the BC NDP received 12,698 votes (45.29 percent) and Damyn Tassie of the Libertarian party received 671 votes (2.39 percent).
In the federal election of April 28, 2025 she was the Green Party of Canada candidate in South Surrey-White Rock. Elections Canada's official results give her 875 votes, 1.3 percent, the fourth of four candidates. Ernie Klassen of the Liberal Party won the seat with 33,094 votes. The results list her occupation at that election as secretary, School District 36.
voche.me ties the two candidacies through one Bluesky account. Her 2025 VoteMate profile and her 2025 answers to the Surrey Now-Leader both link to the account christinekinnie.bsky.social. On 2026-10-02 the profile of that account names her as the BC Green Party candidate in Surrey-White Rock.
In her 2025 answers to the Surrey Now-Leader she said she was born in Surrey, that she worked as a secretary for School District 36, and was running for public office for the first time. The biography printed with those answers says she is a mature student who wants to work in human rights law. These are her own statements, and voche.me has not checked them with the school district or a university.
Her Bluesky posts in 2026 describe local activity. She writes that federal and BC Greens held a table in White Rock on Canada Day and collected signatures for electoral reform and for protecting farmland in BC, that her team walked in the Coldest Night of the Year in February to raise money for Sources Community Resources Society, and that she took part in a September roundtable of local environmental groups hosted by A Rocha Canada. These are her own accounts.
On 2026-10-02 voche.me found no candidate page for her on the BC Green Party website and no campaign website. voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

Strengthen democracy
Her Bluesky profile, which names her as the BC Green candidate in Surrey-White Rock, lists "Strengthen Democracy" as an aim.
Evidence & next checks
Evidence reviewed
This is a two-word aim on her own profile. It names no law, rule, cost or date. Her 2026 posts mention collecting signatures for electoral reform, and the party plan promises proportional representation, but she does not tie the aim to either in her own words.
What still needs checking
Does she name a measure, such as a voting system change, and a date?
Her Bluesky profile, which names her as the BC Green candidate in Surrey-White Rock, lists "Tax Billionaires" as an aim.
Evidence & next checks
Evidence reviewed
This is a two-word aim on her own profile. It names no tax, rate, amount raised or date. The party plan describes a Fair Share Act, but she does not name it in her own words.
What still needs checking
Does she name the tax, the rate and the money it would raise?
The BC Greens platform page says a Fair Share Act would make people worth more than $100 million pay more, and that it would raise more than $13 billion.
Evidence & next checks
Evidence reviewed
This is the party's platform page. It does not name Christine Kinnie, and voche.me found no statement in her own words that repeats it.
What still needs checking
Does she repeat this commitment in her own campaign?
voche.me found no public office held by this candidate in the sources read on 2026-10-02, and so found no voting record to review. Her one earlier candidacy that voche.me found is the 2025 federal election, which she did not win.

Meet the candidates in South Surrey-White Rock (2025 federal election)
Prints her answers as the 2025 Green Party of Canada candidate: economic insecurity as the main issue, the federal Green housing, health care and income plans, and a short biography. This is coverage of her federal campaign, before the 2026 provincial race.
Sources checked October 2, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No campaign website and no BC Green Party candidate page for her were found on 2026-10-02. The party's candidates page listed 18 candidates on this date and did not include her. The addresses bcgreens.ca/candidates-2026/christine-kinnie/ and bcgreens.ca/candidates-2026/chris-kinnie/ returned HTTP 404, a search of the party website for Kinnie returned no page, and the party's 30 newest posts, from 2026-05-20 to 2026-09-30, do not name her. Peace Arch News's September 28 report on the Surrey districts does not name a Green candidate in Surrey-White Rock. Her Facebook page, linked from her 2025 VoteMate profile, needs a sign-in and was not read. An Instagram account named christine_kinnie needs a sign-in, and no page voche.me could read ties it to her, so it is not used. Another Instagram account under the same name describes a different person, and a letter writer in Peace Arch News shares her surname; no page ties either to this candidacy, so neither is used. The WebSearch tool had no searches left in this session, so the name search used DuckDuckGo instead. voche.me searched Elections BC's statements of votes for 2024 and 2020 and the City of White Rock's 2022 local election results for her surname, and found it in none of them. It did not search City of Surrey results or provincial results before 2020. In April 2025 she told the Surrey Now-Leader that it was her first time running for public office. Her job, studies and place of birth come from her own statements and from the occupation she gave Elections Canada, and were not checked with an employer or school. The portrait is her Bluesky profile photo. No date for the photo is known. All-candidates meetings other than the October 15 forum, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. Nominations close October 3, 2026, so other candidates may still be added. The questionnaire has not been sent.
