About Anna Kindy

Anna Kindy is the Conservative Party of BC candidate in North Island on Elections BC's list for the general election of October 24, 2026. She won the district in 2024 with 14,100 votes, 47.07% of the valid vote, ahead of the sitting BC NDP member, Michele Babchuk, with 13,461 votes, according to the Elections BC statement of votes.

The legislature record lists 2024 as her only election year and lists no cabinet or parliamentary secretary role. The Campbell River Mirror reports that party leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay named her shadow minister for Health and Seniors on September 9, 2026. The Premier and the Chemainus Valley Courier both called her the Conservative health critic earlier in 2026.

In the legislature she moved two private member's bills on health care. Bill M219, in 2025, would have required health authorities to tell patients when they cannot be treated in time; it was defeated 43 to 48. Bill M236, in March 2026, would repeal the Health Professions and Occupations Act. She also spoke against the 2026 changes to freedom of information law and questioned the Minister of Health over four days of budget debate.

The party's candidate page says she is a physician and addiction specialist who graduated from the University of Alberta medical school in 1986 and worked in Port Hardy and Campbell River. Those are the party's statements. Olympedia lists an Anna Kindy of Canada in the women's moguls at the 1992 Winter Olympics, and the party page says she competed there.

No campaign website of her own was found: annakindy.ca and annakindy.com open a copy of the party's candidate page. The party page labels her "Interim Conservative Party Leader". No other source read for this record names her as leader, so voche.me does not repeat that label. Her X account (@DrKindyMLA) and her Facebook page returned a sign-in page or an error to a direct read, so no post is used. A party release on rare diseases that names her returned HTTP 404. A 2024 Times Colonist candidate profile returned HTTP 403. Her medical degree from the University of Alberta in 1986, her work as a doctor in Port Hardy and Campbell River, and her addiction medicine practice are stated by the party page only and were not checked with the College of Physicians and Surgeons or the university. The vote on the Bill 11 amendments she spoke for on April 13, 2026 is not in her entry in the vote index, so no vote is attributed to her.
