History and past elections
Registration announced
Langley Strong, headed by Barbara Sharp, announced that it had registered with Elections BC and would run candidates for mayor, Council and school board. Sharp said she would not run herself.
Four councillors and a candidate for mayor
Councillors Margaret Kunst, Barb Martens, Kim Richter and Blair Whitmarsh joined, with Jay Lundgren as the candidate for mayor. Lundgren's statement put the Township's debt per household at an estimated $10,754 in 2025, up from $3,348 in 2022; that is his own figure.
Transit shelter posters taken down
The Township had Langley Strong's posters about the debt removed from transit shelters as election signs outside the period the sign bylaw allows. Langley Strong said it was reviewing the order; Woodward called the posters illegal.
Complaints to the chief election officer about Progress for Langley ads
Langley Strong filed complaints with the Township's chief election officer over Progress for Langley videos filmed at Township construction sites and signs posted early. Woodward called it a stunt. The complaint was under review as of August 7, 2026.
Ten platform pillars, from September 8 to October 10
Langley Strong released its first pillar, Respect for Taxpayers, on September 8, its trustee platform on September 19, the full ten-pillar platform on September 23, and its tenth pillar on October 10.
