Masako Gooch was re-elected to the Delta Board of Education on October 17, 2026. The City of Delta's official count gives her 11,823 votes, fifth of the 18 candidates for seven seats, and the Chief Election Officer declared her elected on October 21, 2026. The North Delta Reporter reported that this was 7.23 per cent of the ballots cast for trustee and that she was one of three sitting trustees re-elected with One Delta.
The District's post of November 9, 2022 says she was sworn in as a new trustee that day, and the Optimist reported that she ran with Achieving for Delta in 2022. The District's trustee page lists her as liaison trustee for Burnsview Secondary and four elementary schools. The Reporter reported on April 28, 2026 that she, Windsor and Dhillon had joined One Delta, the organization formed by four councillors after Mayor George Harvie's organization dropped them, and quoted her on the District's Justice and Equity Action Plan and on sharing the Board's progress openly.
By her own account, in her 2022 statement to the Optimist, on the One Delta team page and in the Reporter's questionnaire, she spent much of her career as a registered veterinary technician, later worked as an educator in health care and went back to school to study nursing, and has three children. voche.me has not checked her veterinary registration or her studies with any body.
In the Reporter's questionnaire she named three priorities: making belonging part of every student's experience, strengthening mental health and wellness supports, and supporting strong relationships between trustees, families and education partners. She wrote that she will continue supporting the District's Justice and Equity Action Plan and Accessibility Plan while listening to students, families and staff about what works and where barriers remain, and that progress should be measured through outcomes. The One Delta school platform carries the slate's promises, listed on this page as the organization's.
