The City of Ottawa’s list of certified candidates shows Shannon Boschy’s nomination for trustee of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in Zone 10 dated May 11, 2026. The City’s open data file shows no withdrawal. The other candidates in the zone are Keelin Pringnitz and Diana Mills. The City list gives him a website, a Facebook page, an X account and a LinkedIn profile. The Leveller named him on July 24, 2026 among the Zone 10 candidates, and CTV News Ottawa links his site in its guide of September 9, 2026.
The City’s official results for the October 24, 2022 election show that he ran in the Zone 6 trustee race, which covered City Wards 12 and 13. He received 1,224 of the 13,363 votes cast, which is 9.2 percent, and finished third of six candidates. Lyra Evans won with 7,275 votes. CBC News of July 23, 2026 reports that he ran against Evans in 2022 and lost by a wide margin.
His campaign website says he has been self-employed in finance since 2004, is a Chartered Investment Manager, and is a partner with an Ottawa portfolio management firm. An opinion piece he wrote for the Ottawa Business Journal on March 5, 2025 names the firm as Exponent Investment Management. The site says he served as a board member and treasurer of the Chelsea Foundation and as a co-founding member of the Chelsea Seniors Housing Committee, coached children’s soccer, and spent one year as a contract teacher of high-school mathematics and science at a small private school. It says he is a co-founder of the Parents’ Rights Coalition of Canada, which it describes as a network that supports groups opposing school practices of keeping information about students from their parents, and that he is the current president of the Ottawa Centre Federal Conservative Riding Association. voche.me has not checked these roles with the organizations.
CBC News reported on July 23, 2026 that he said he is running to roll back board policies on diversity, equity and inclusion, which he described as activist and driven by radical identity politics, and that he said he wants to start a public discussion, which he called more important than whether he is elected. The Leveller reported on July 24, 2026 that he said he was glad the government suspended the board, and that if a board is seated he would advocate removing diversity, equity and inclusion provisions from the board’s hiring practices because he considers them discriminatory. In his Ottawa Business Journal piece he argued that diversity, equity and inclusion training harms workplaces. His pinned post on X of May 12, 2026 says he is running again because he holds progressive activists responsible for the board’s problems, which he lists as the suspension, lost revenue, layoffs and cuts, and families leaving for home schooling and other boards.
His campaign site names three priorities: academic outcomes over activism, what it calls Canadian principles (it asks for an end to what it calls US race politics in schools and for removing professional development on that subject), and trustees who set an example of respectful conduct. A featured video on his site, dated September 1, 2026, says that policies which, in his words, make teachers and students keep vital secrets from parents make the board untrustworthy. These are the campaign’s own statements, and voche.me has not checked them.
The board’s page says that since June 27, 2025 the board has been under supervision by the Minister of Education, and that decisions normally made by trustees are made by the appointed Supervisor, Robert Plamondon. The sources read hold no complaint or allegation about him.
