About Marie-Ange Yindaki Ahinful

The City's list of certified candidates shows Marie-Ange Yindaki Ahinful's nomination for Councillor in Ward 6 Stittsville dated June 5, 2026. The City's list of elected officials for 2022 to 2026 names Glen Gower as Councillor for Ward 6, and CBC News reported that Gower is not seeking re-election, so no sitting member is running in this ward. CBC News and Stittsville Central use the shorter name Marie-Ange Ahinful.

CBC News says she founded a nonprofit called Leading Ladies Canada. In the CTV News questionnaire she gives her age as 43, says she is a first-time candidate for Council, and describes herself as founder and president of Leading Ladies Canada, with a bachelor's degree in political science and economics and a master's degree in public administration, and federal public service work in budgeting and administration including at National Defence. In the CBC News questionnaire she says she has lived in the ward for 8 years and gives 15 years in the federal public service in one answer and more than 10 years in another. Her campaign website says French is her first language. These are her own statements, and voche.me has not checked them with the employer or the universities.

The organization's own web page, written in the voice of its founder, president and CEO, says Leading Ladies Canada exists to support Black women and youth. That page gives the founder's name with a different middle name than the ballot, so voche.me uses it only for the organization's stated purpose.

Her campaign website lists six priorities under the slogan Stittsville First: safer neighbourhoods, responsible growth, thriving local businesses, taxes and housing, support for youth, seniors and families, and community connection. At the debate on September 17, 2026, Stittsville Central reported that she said consultation should happen before, during and after a project. In the Stittsville Central growth article she proposes identifying at least two viable Ward 6 sites or projects for family-sized housing within 18 months.

In the CBC News questionnaire she says she would keep the 2027 tax increase as close to inflation as possible, picks a transit levy (a separate property tax charge for transit) to address OC Transpo deficits, says any police funding increase should come with clear goals and reporting, and gives 4 on a scale where 5 is strongly agree to the statement that adding more homes to built-up areas will be important for housing in the ward. The sources voche.me read hold no complaint or allegation about her. She did not answer the Stittsville Central question set of September 13, 2026, according to that outlet.

What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on October 6, 2026: the City's list of certified candidates for Ward 6 and its list of elected officials, her campaign website, the CBC News questionnaire and two CBC News reports, the CTV News Ottawa questionnaire, the Ecology Ottawa survey, the Leading Ladies Canada web page, and three Stittsville Central articles.

Gaps. Her degrees, public service years, age and role at Leading Ladies Canada are her own statements, and the organization's page names its founder with a different middle name, so no corporate record was used. Her priorities appear on the home page of her campaign site, and its pages for donations, photos and volunteering were not read. Her Facebook and LinkedIn pages and the Instagram account named in the City's list showed no content without a login. The questionnaire has not been sent.
