About Rajinder S. Sahota
Elections BC's candidate list, stamped October 3, 2026 09:00:06 PM, prints Rajinder S. Sahota as the BC Green Party candidate for Victoria-Beacon Hill. The same copy shows one other accepted nomination in the district, Grace Lore of the BC NDP, who is the sitting member. The list shows nominations that Elections BC has accepted. In 2024, Grace Lore won the district with 13,634 votes (47.35 percent), Sonia Furstenau of the BC Green Party received 9,644 (33.50 percent) and Tim Thielmann of the Conservative Party received 5,514 (19.15 percent). No candidate named Sahota ran in the district in 2024.
The BC Green Party's candidate page, which uses the name Rajinder S. Sahota in its heading and Raj in its text, says he was born in Victoria, raised in Esquimalt and attended Esquimalt High School and Belmont Senior Secondary. It says he earned degrees in commerce and law at the University of Victoria, began his legal career in corporate law at firms in Toronto and New York City, and then took a Master of Laws in International Law at the London School of Economics. It says he has worked for nearly two decades as a litigator and negotiator for injured, harmed and vulnerable people, and for more than a decade as managing partner and/or team principal of a law firm that handles personal injury, human rights and class action cases. These are the campaign's statements. voche.me has not checked them with the universities or the Law Society of BC, and the page does not name the firm.
The candidate page also says he has served for more than a decade on the board of Pacifica Housing Advisory Association, a non-profit housing and service provider. Pacifica Housing's own leadership page lists a director named Raj Sahota and says he chairs the organization's Development Committee. Its biography of him says he began as a corporate lawyer with a multinational firm in New York City and now represents people injured through the fault of others, including people seeking compensation from ICBC. The campaign page names the board seat and Pacifica's page lists a Raj Sahota with a matching career, so this record treats them as one person. Pacifica's page shows no date.
The BC Green Party announced his candidacy in a release dated September 24, 2026, alongside David Evans for Juan de Fuca-Malahat. Global News reported the announcement the same day and described Sahota as a lawyer and a longstanding member of the Pacifica Housing Advisory Association board. The party's candidate page carries one quotation from him: "Government's primary job is to care for us, not cater to lobbyists."

B.C. election campaign day 3: NDP takes aim at Trump trade war
Global News's report on the third day of the campaign says the BC Green Party announced two more candidates, Raj Sahota in Victoria-Beacon Hill and David Evans in Juan de Fuca-Malahat. It describes Sahota as a lawyer and a longstanding member of the Pacifica Housing Advisory Association board.
Provincial election candidates in south Vancouver Island ridings
Island Social Trends, in an article it published on the evening of October 3, 2026 (PT), lists Grace Lore of the BC NDP and Rajinder Sahota of the BC Greens as the only two names on the Victoria-Beacon Hill ballot. It says the Green candidate has big-city legal career experience and has studied global economics, and that he has less name recognition than Lore. That is the outlet's own assessment.
Sources checked October 3, 2026. Official records establish decisions; campaign material establishes stated positions; reporting adds investigation and context. None alone establishes every claim.
No personal website or social media account of his own was found, and the party's candidate page links none, so the only statements from him are one quotation on that page and the priorities it lists in the third person. The page does not name his law firm. His degrees and his standing with the Law Society of BC were not checked. Pacifica Housing's board page is undated and gives no start date for his seat, and no Pacifica minutes were found. The name search was limited because the general web search tool was at its usage limit. It used Google News, the BC Green Party site search and the search pages of CHEK News, Island Social Trends and Victoria News. The Times Colonist refused the request (HTTP 403). Search results for the name also listed older articles and a magazine profile that matched the name, a CHEK News list of Vancouver Island candidates, a Times Colonist list of Vancouver Island candidates and an item from Sher-E-Punjab Radio. voche.me did not open them. No page voche.me opened ties any other person or public record that shares his name to this candidate, so none is used. Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn were not opened, so nothing from them is used. The party names him Rajinder Sahota in its page address and Raj Sahota in its release, and Elections BC prints Rajinder S. Sahota, which is the name on this page. The party says its full platform is coming soon, so the Our Plan page may change. All-candidates meetings, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. Elections BC says it is still reviewing the nominations it received, so the list may change. The questionnaire has not been sent.
